The Transmission and Cultural Models of Communication

The Transmission model is the easiest of the two models. The source sends a message to a receiver. It makes it easier for people to communicate this way. You don't have to think about what you are saying and if the receiver is going to understand the message. As the receiver you must first determine if the message you received was the same as when it was sent.

The cultural model emphasizes the fact that people exist in a world of shared meaning that they take for granted. I think that this means that communicating to one another is harder. They may feel that same way about one topic but getting the message across is the tough part. You would have to explain yourself more and that is why this method is not used the least.
